That's certainly what the folks at SpeedKore Performance in Wisconsin think, and they're quite good at crafting precious metal mixed with massively powerful engines. Car and Driver caught wind on one such machine. It's a 1970 Dodge Charger that's been reworked, reimagined and reignited thanks to tremendous style and power.

The car is called Tantrum, and its body has been reworked so that it's both clearly a Charger and clearly custom. It's wearing the standard restomod bits like oversized wheels and big brakes. It's also packing a nearly nuclear option under the hood.
SpeedKore took a twin-turbocharged 9.0-liter Mercury Marine racing engine and jammed it in the nose of the car. It's pumping out 1,650 horsepower, and it sends that power to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual and limited-slip rear differential. The rear rubber being used here? Michelin-sourced 345-series tires that probably are just enough to provide some grip and forward momentum when the throttle is mashed.

Want to see the car in person? It will be apparently be making an appearance at the Grand National Roadster Show next month. Get your ass to Pomona because this car must be seen in person to be believed.
