While PC gamers often enjoy the best frame rates and graphics a game can possibly offer, it also means making sure that their systems are up to the task whenever a new game is on the horizon. Expectant Dark Souls III players now have a baseline with which they can upgrade their PCs by.

PC gamers may be surprised by the fact that the system requirements that have been leaked aren’t particularly demanding. However, the system requirements have since been pulled, and a post on the official Dark Souls Facebook page has announced that the requirements were inadvertently leaked, and aren’t yet final. As such, PC gamers should take this list of Dark Souls III system requirements with a grain of salt, but it’s at least a place to start:

Minimum OS: Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit Windows 10 64bit Processor: AMD A8 3870 3.6 Ghz or Intel Core i3 2100 3.1Ghz Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 465 / ATI Radeon HD 6870 DirectX: Version 11 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 50 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX 11 sound device

OS: Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit Windows 10 64bit Processor: AMD FX 8150 3.6 GHz or Intel Core i7 2600 3.4 GHz Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 750, ATI Radeon HD 7850 DirectX: Version 11 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 50 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX 11 sound device

Thankfully, the game is still providing support to Windows 7, as some players have yet to upgrade. The biggest question for most gamers is whether their video cards and processors are up to the task, which is generally one of the most difficult parts of being a PC gamer. However, the fact that the minimum and recommended amounts of memory are identical is probably a sign that these system requirements aren’t quite finalized just yet. In any case, it would be wise for PC gamers to make sure that their computers can at least handle the minimum requirements, and if not, to start upgrading now.

However, not everything is changing in Dark Souls III. Dark Souls III will see the return of the traditional Souls summoning system, and the same magic system from the prior games, although director Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team are working on improving the spells gamers are acquainted with.

It remains to be seen whether Dark Souls III will provide Dark Souls fans with the answersthey’ve been seeking since the first entry to the series. Director Miyazaki himself has proclaimed that there are no more answers to be found in the existing entries to the series, but didn’t go so far as to explain whether the final entry will explain, either.
