Brand new stills for Dark Souls 3 have officially been released by Bandai Namco, and they reveal the return of series standards like messages, miracles, spells, and loads more. The images primarily feature the game’s online components, such as its PvP multiplayer and magic, and additionally show off the title’s Red Phantoms – that is, apparitions linked to the player-versus-player gameplay who crop up whenever a separate gamer is invading one’s world.

Also shown are Dark Souls 3 ‘s White Phantoms, which are other players summoned for supportive co-op. Speaking of summoning, we also get an idea of how it works within the game, as restoring the power of the Lord of Cinder is required for co-op and can be done by using embers, which increase HP and allow players to conjure white spirits.

Furthermore, the Herald of White, the Academy Assassin, the Northern Warrior, and the Wandering Knight classes are each on display, in addition to other features such as bloodstains and enemies. All of the aforementioned gameplay images can be seen below in our gallery.

Starting on Friday, October 16, From Software will begin the initial network stress testfor Dark Souls 3 , but it has only been announced for the PlayStation 4. For those wishing to take part in the beta, it is available for download from the North American PlayStation Store, but fans who didn’t sign up during September 18 through October 4 will not be eligible for selection to play. The network test is scheduled to last through October 18 for North America and Japan, so bearing that in mind, Europe’s should be soon to follow.

While there’s no word on exactly what the stress test’s content will be, it’s a safe bet that there will at least be some limiting, yet uptempo action to be experienced, as the franchise’s director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, recently made fans aware that the forthcoming title’s combat was inspired by Bloodborne . Plus, as with previous entries, players should be prepared to die over and over again.

Dark Souls 3 is set for release on March 24, 2015 in Japan, but it will drop some time in April 2015 for Europe and North America for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.
