In anticipation of the release of one of 2015’s most anticipated games, Bethesda releases a launch trailer for Fallout 4 that offers a glimpse at the game’s main quest.
The wait is almost over. Ever since Fallout 4 ‘s reveal trailer, gamers have been eagerly anticipating the chance to get their hands on the much-anticipated sequel. Well,is now less than a week away from release, and Bethesda has marked the occasion with an exciting launch trailer that teases us with the story of the main quest.
The trailer begins with the nuclear explosions that transformed the world into the post-apocalyptic wasteland Fallout players should be plenty familiar with. The narrator shifts between a male and female voice, highlighting the fact that in Fallout 4 , players can choose to play as a male or female character.
From there, the trailer offers brief glimpses at various locales players will explore in post-apocalyptic Boston, and offers a look at some important NPCs as well. It’s these NPCs that make the player aware of the “Institute”, the organization that will serve as the primary antagonists in Fallout 4 ‘s main quest.
The Institute’s role is mysterious, and the trailer doesn’t go into too many details. At one point, the player character asks how to find the Institute, and is told, “Haven’t you been paying attention? You don’t find the Institute. The Institute finds you.”

A lot of the footage in the trailer is repeated from what we saw in Fallout 4’s E3 2015 footage, with brief looks at the game’s revamped VATS combat, as well as the settlement-building mechanicsbeing introduced to the series with this entry. Gameplay-wise, the game still looks like a surefire hit come its release on Tuesday.
That being said, those that have criticized Fallout 4 ‘s graphicsaren’t going to be swayed by the launch trailer. It seems like Bethesda chose incredible scope and deep gameplay over graphics that take full advantage of the current-gen hardware, but even so, the game is no slouch visually. It is a definite improvement over Fallout 3 , and while the facial animations of the characters seen in the launch trailer may not measure up to some other games, it’s better than what we’ve seen in any preceding game from Bethesda.
In any case, Fallout 4 ‘s hype train has nearly reached the station, with the game scheduled to launch in just a few short days. Whether or not it lives up to the hype is anyone’s guess, but based on this launch trailer and what we’ve seen of the game since its reveal months ago, we are pretty confident that Fallout 4 will meet expectations and then some.
Fallout 4 will be available November 10th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
