The Pokémon Company and Bandai Namco Entertainment reveal the forthcoming Pokkén Tournament fighting game’s Japanese release date with a Wii U bundle.
Thanks to a brand new trailer for Pokkén Tournament , it’s been confirmed that the Pokémon-centric fighting game will have a Japanese release date of March 18, 2016 and will be coupled for purchase with a Wii U bundle. Should Pokkén Tournament fans purchase the package, not only will they get the game and Nintendo console, but they’ll also receive a home edition of the title’s arcade controller, which can be found below.
On top of all of the trailer’s news regarding the bundle, the footage also posits a reminder for the Shadow Mewtwoamiibo card. Not to mention, four more Pokémon have been added to the game’s roster with Rotom, Togekiss, Dragonite, and Victini joining the title’s ranks.
While an exact schedule for Pokkén Tournament ‘s availability has been confirmed for Japanese audiences, the West should have a concrete time set soon, as it’s been previously announced that a release date of Spring 2016is in the works. Interestingly enough, though, prior to the confirmation of the console version of Pokkén Tournament hitting store shelves, it was declared that the fighting game would be tested out at a handful of Dave & Buster’s locations, presumably to gauge fans’ interest in the title.
So far, Pokkén Tournament boasts a pretty eclectic set of fighters from which to choose, with the most recent addition to the game prior to the newest four being the fully-evolved Pokémon Sceptile. Despite the fact that the Grass-type creature is indeed a great inclusion, many fans have also expressed their desire in checking out the roster’s full range of characters before choosing their favorite, with Charizard and Weavilealso being solid contenders.
Even though Nintendo already has a glut of Pokémon games, Pokkén Tournament ought to be a welcome addition in the franchise due to the game’s ability to let fans actually battle as the creatures themselves à la the versions of theirs found in Super Smash Bros.
