Sony has announced the new Cybershot RX1R II camera, which sports a 42.4MP full frame CMOS sensor.

camera, which sports a 42.4MP full frame CMOS sensor. It will be the first camera to be sporting an optical variable low-pass filter,聽which gives the pro photographers the option to turn聽the low pass filter on or off. It will start selling in November for $3,299 (approx Rs 2,14,000).
The optical variable low pass filter is the newest feature and is a world-first. It lets the photographers select if they want more sharpness (filter turned off) or reduced moire patterns (filter turned on). Photographers get modes such as ‘Off’, ‘Standard’ or ‘High’ based on their preferences. The RX1R II also lets you bracket shots with the low pass filter.
The Sony RX1R II comes with a fixed focal length 35mm f/2 Zeiss Sonnar T lens which comes with a variety of rings around the lens. The Macro shift ring lets you focus on subjects as close as 14cm. There is a 9-blade aperture and an in-lens shutter with a 1/2000 second flash sync speed. It houses the BIONZ X image processor.
The camera comes with 399 phase-detect autofocus points which gives a 45% coverage area and 25 contrast-detect autofocus points. Sony claims that this AF system is 30% faster than the RX1R. It comes with a 5fps burst rate with AF tracking on. It gives a native ISO range of ISO 100 to 25600 which is expandable to 50 – 102400.
Just like its younger cousins – the RX100 III and RX100 IV – the RX1R II comes with a 2.4-million dot XGA OLED electronic view finder which pops up from the left hand side. On the rear side is a 3-inch 1.2-million dot LCD screen which is partially articulated. It also supports NFC and Wi-fi for image transfer and remote shooting.
