Apple is aggressively recruiting experts in the automotive industry.
Although the company has yet to confirm it is working on a car project, reports point that it is well underway in development and another recent hiring shows Apple is getting serious. It’s also no secret that Tesla and Apple fight for top-tier talent, with TeslaCEO Elon Musk having called Apple the “Tesla Graveyard” because Apple hires people that Tesla has fired.
Electrek now reports that Apple has hired former Tesla vice president of vehicle engineering, Chris Porritt, to work on “special projects,” which is likely Apple’s vehicle development. Porritt also had a previous stint serving as Aston Martin’schief engineer and is credited for helping develop the One-77 supercar, V12 Zagato and Aston Martin DB9.

A recent report also claims that Steve Zadesky, an Apple executive who was believed to be leading Apple’s car project, left the company earlier this year.
