In commemoration of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 ‘s release today, Sony declares that Activision’s and Treyarch’s first-person shooter is best experienced on the PS4.
Sony Computer Entertainment’s Vice President of Publisher & Development Relations, Adam Boyes, has declared that PlayStation 4 is the “best place to play” Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 . The full statement from the tech firm executive regarding the matter makes reference to Sony’s co-marketing and exclusivity partnership made with Activison that was announced back at E3 2015 in June.
Rather than have Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 ‘s promotional materials, services, and products cater to Microsoft as was the standard in the past, the futuristic first-person shooter will have materials such as timed-exclusive DLCavailable on PlayStation platforms first. Not to mention, its advertising has prominently featured Sony’s next-gen console rather than Xbox. Regarding the matter, Boyes said:
“This is a[n] historic partnership that makes PlayStation the best place to play Call of Duty . The massive reception to the game’s multiplayer betaonly a few months ago demonstrated the huge appetite our fans have for this franchise and the anticipation for Black Ops III . This is the game our fans want, and we’re proud to welcome Call of Duty to its new home on PlayStation 4.”
Much like Sony’s recent declaration of shooter fans switching to PS4, Boyes’ announcement today is certainly hyperbolic. Nevertheless, his claim is to be expected due to the Japan-based multinational having inked a deal with Activision. After all, Sony has definitely gone all out as far as publicity for the game goes. The company even created a unique PS4 1 TB bundlewith designs and color schemes reminiscent of those found in Black Ops 3 .
While Sony is indeed confident about Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 ‘s future on the PlayStation 4, Xbox’s Aaron Greenbergremains unruffled by the matter, citing the Xbox One’s strong line-up of shooters in addition to Treyarch’s, including Halo and Gears of War . Plus, he proclaimed that in the end, Microsoft’s current-gen system will eventually get all of the content related to Black Ops 3 that Sony’s does.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
