Lincoln is offering the Continental with one of four trim levels: Premiere, Select, Reserve and Black Label.
There are also three V-6 engines to choose from, with one of these unique to Lincoln. The base unit is a 300-horsepower 3.7-liter V-6. Further up the chain is a 335-hp turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 and at the top is a Lincoln-exclusive turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6. The latter is good for 400 hp.
The $45,485 starting price gets you a Continental Premiere with the 3.7-liter V-6 and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is a $2,000 option across the board.
The Continental goes on sale this fall and has managed to pique the interest of at least 40,000 potential buyerssince its debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Lincoln says the big sedan will appeal to buyers looking for comfort and luxury and has pointed out the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class as prime targets.
