Bethesda is famous for making great, high-quality video games, so any hype surrounding its products is utterly warranted. The company is methodical with its releases, often playing its cards close to the vest, so as to take proper care when developing a title. Quite simply, players won’t know what’s happening until Bethesda is good and ready. Right now, Bethesdais keeping fans at arm’s length with regards to any information about the latest installment in its popular post-apocalyptic RPG series, Fallout 4 .Fortunately, gamers won’t have to wait much longer for details. Bethesda recently posted a cryptic, Fallout -styled countdown on its Twitteraccount and on a teaser website, urging fans to “please stand by.” That’s not much to go on, but if the HTML code for the ambiguous web page is to be believed, then it’s possible that Fallout 4 could be headed to the PS3 and Xbox 360 in addition to the Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.
Or this news could be complete bunk. However, the signs are there, and there’s no other reason why the developer of the teaser site would include the last generation’s consoles in its code. In addition, an E3 listingconfirms that Bethesda will be showing an RPG on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, in addition to the more recent platforms.
Although it seems possible that this is legitimate news, readers are advised to treat it as a rumor, at least for now. Bethesda has yet to make an official statement, and it’s not clear why the company would develop the next Fallout game for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Last generation consoles are in the middle of being phased out, and most other studios have started avoiding them altogether.
Nonetheless, fans are ecstatic that there’s finally a follow-up toand it’s about time that Bethesda said something about Fallout ; there was no announcement at The Game Awardslast December, and Bethesda’s E3 invite omitted the title completely. People are getting impatient.
